Lombardy Elementary School
Physical Education
Hello Lombardy Community,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself since I am new to Lombardy. Even though I have only been here a few months, I feel very much a part of the Lombardy Family. Thank you all so much for welcoming me into your community.
My name is Dennis Dougherty, and this is my 25th year in education. With this experience, I have had the opportunity to work in various educational environments. I began my teaching career teaching Middle School Health and Physical Education in Charlotte, North Carolina. After eight years, I decided to take a position at Bancroft NeuroHealth School located in New Jersey. This school specializes in educating students with severe Neurological Disabilities. I was at Bancroft for four years when an opportunity to teach in Brandywine School District became available. Prior to coming to Lombardy this year, I have been the Adapted Physical Education Teacher in the district for thirteen years. When the opportunity to teach Physical Education here at Lombardy became available, I decided it was time for a new challenge. Lombardy is a World Class School and Community that I am thrilled to be a part of.
Thank you all again,
Dennis Dougherty
